| Introduction |
This package is full of fun and excitement.
The flight into Jomsom is quite spectacular since the plane is small that flies between the massifs of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South to get into the narrow Jomsom Valley! This describes the route through the Mustangi culture of Kagbeni up through Jharkot and to the shrine at Muktinath,s then retraces through Jomsom and the Thakali countryside to Tatopani, then passes through Magar and Gurung country to end at Pokhara.
The entire trek is endowed with the natural beauty of waterfalls, green fields and breathtaking mountain views, which can rejuvenate your entire being.
Also included in this package is a tour of Kathmandus World Heritage Sites including Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square and the most picturesque valley of Nepal Pokhara! |

| Itinerary |
Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu. Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. Rest day.
Day 2: Kathmandu City Tours. Full day sightseeing of Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Day 3: Kathmandu Pokhara. Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara for 5-6 hours. Check into the hotel in Pokhara. Afternoon Pokhara City tour with an hour boat ride on Phewa Lake. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Pokhara-Jomsom-Kagbeni Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom and trek to Kagbeni (2858 m):
Early morning fly from Pokhara Jomsom(2713m) with your guide, walk for 3 hrs through the bank of Kaligandaki to Ekley Bhatti Village and have lunch; trek one more hour to Kagbeni lying between two rivers Kaligandaki (flows. from Muktinath) and Nilgiri (flows from Mt. Nilgiri). Overnight at Kagbeni (2810m)
Day 5: Kagbeni Muktinath Have your breakfast then leaving the river begin ascent slowly through Jharkot and finally to Muktinath (3800m), an important Vishnu shrine sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists.
Day 6: Muktinath - Marpha After exploring the temple and the nearby Monastery, take the shorter descent direct to Jomsom then walk the short distance down to the charming village of MARPHA (2665m.). Overnight at a lodge.
Day 7: Marpha - Ghansa Follow the Kaligandaki river through fields and interesting Buddhist Thakali villages - Tukuche, Larjung, Kalopani. Overnight at GHASA (2000m) by the deepest gorge in the world!!
Day 8: Ghansa - Tatopani The trail today passes the picturesque Rupsechhara waterfall, a rather stony route through Dana and finally reaches the hot spring village of TATOPANI (1180m.). Find a little time to go down to the springs on the river for a hot bath. Tatopani's charming village boasts a number of small eating houses offering exotic things like lemon meringue pies!!
Day 9: Tatopani/Ghorepani This is a difficult day but take it easy. It's a long walk uphill through the neat Magar village of Sikha to GHOREPANI (2775). The village itself is in a hollow of rhodhodenron trees.
Day 10: Ghorepani - Pokhara Talk an early morning (pre-breakfast?) stroll up to Pun Hill (3193m.) for a marvellous view of Dhaulagiri and the western Annapurnas (weather permitting!) This has scheduled as a rest day at Ghorepani but if you feel like it, continue down the ridge to ULLERI (2070m.)- a Magar village at the top of a rather steep cliff. Descend the cliff to the village of Tirkhedhunge from where you follow the Burungdi river past Hille, it's series of pools getting more and more picturesque as you finally enter BIRETHANTI (1065m), the most charming village on the trail, at the confluence with the Modi river. From Birethanti, cross the river on the swing bridge, then turning west follow the Modi Khola through light forest to the confluence with a stream at Nayapul. 30 minutes should see you to the roadhead from whence you can bus it back into Pokhara. This will be a little long walk. Galeshor to Pokhara: 2 hours trek after breakfast to Beni. Beni is the place where local buses are available to Pokhara. The buses start from 11 oclock. It takes 3/4hours to Pokhara by bus. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 11: Pokhara - Kathmandu Pokhara to Kathmandu: either by 6 hours scenic drive or by 35 minutes flight. Overnight in the hotel in Kathmandu
Day 12: Departure Return to home country. |
