  This is the most popular trekking circuit in Nepal. Reasons being, its easy accessibility, plentiful hotels along trekking routes and breathtaking scenery of both high mountains and lowland villages.

Be sure to heed avalanche information in the avalanche afflicted Annapurna Sanctuary' trek.

Getting Started
You can fly from Kathmandu to start-off points of Pokhara, Jomsom and Manang. The other option is taking a bus or taxi to starting points like Pokhara, Baglung, Dumre, Besi Sahar or Gorkha.

Highlights
Annapurna Sanctuary is the site of the Annapurna south face base camp.
The trek tansverses a wide variety of terrain. So you will walk through lowland villages and rice terraces to glaciers.
The trek also offers outstanding mountain views.
You can treat yourself to a brilliant view of Dhaulagiri from Poon Hill by taking a minor diversion to Ghorapani on the return route.
The biggest advantage of this trek is that it provides you with a great opportunity to be surrounded by the Himalayan peaks in a short time, without having to contend with altitude sickness.
You can treat your eyes to a wide variety of wild flowers on this trek. The notable ones being luculia, impatients and primulas.
Beware: It is the only trekking route in Nepal with significant avalanche dangers. So pay heed to weather forecasts, and enquire locally about the safety of the trail.
