• Duration 16 days
• Difficulty Medium to tough
• Max Elevation 5416m
• Season Oct-Nov
Mar-Apr

Note

• There are numerous check-posts in this region. Make sure that all your permits are duly stamped at each check-post.
• Make sure that not just you but even your porters are equipped with proper clothing and equipment to prevent lethal frost bites and snow blindness.
• The Thorung La pass is at a very high altitude. So take the precaution of acclimatising to avoid altitude sickness, which is not only rampant, but also lethal here.

Highlights

• The trek takes you completely around the Annapurna massif.
• The trek takes you through lush green locales to the arid and semi-arid Tibet like country of the Manang region on the northern slopes of the Himalayas and the dramatic Kali Gandaki gorge.
• An excellent view of the Manang Valley with the 7134m high Tilcho Peak at its head from Pisang.
• Crossing the Thorung La pass at an elevation of 5416m.
• From Manang, a short climb reveals an awesome view of Annapurna IV, Annapurna II and Tarke Kang. Or a short descent takes you to the glacial lake at the foot of a huge icefall of Gangapurna.
• The Thorung La pass offers outstanding Himalayan views. You can see the ΤGreat Barrier' that separates the drier, Tibet like Manang region from the rest of Nepal. To the south, you can see the Annapurnas, Gangapurna and the heavily glaciated peak of Yak Gawa. To the west, far below lies the barren Kali Gandaki valley. And to the north you can see the rock peak of Thorungtse.
