Vegetation
Three basic vegetation types that is dominated by sal forests
but also includes open grasslands and riverine forests. The
park also has 50 species of grasses.
Wildlife
The 43 species of animals protected by the park includes the
endangered one-horned rhino, Royal Bengal tiger, gharial, crocodile,
gaur, wild elephant, four horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin,
Gangetic dolphin, monitor lizards and even pythons.
Birds
Chitwan is a bird watchers paradise with over 450 different
bird types.
Butterflies
Over 67 different types of butterflies can be spied here.
Season
October to February. Avoid the rainy season.
